Daddy-boy with Missionary |
The Budu Liberian Children Project is embarking on a campaign to provide
orphans in Liberia with basic health care. It is for certain that
children at orphanages can not afford the cost of health and they
are not given free care either. Therefore, they are depending on the
project to provide same. We plan to raise $16,000.00 to
purchase mosquito nets, malaria drugs, pain killers, diarrhea
medication, etc. It will also help if we receive medical supplies
from donors, who are eligible to claim tax credit from the IRS.

Recent Shipment to Camp |
In April 2009, the Executive Director, Orea Wright traveled to Liberia, West Africa, on a ten day working/community service visit to the Fatamah Cottage Orphanage. During this visit, the project provided food and agricultural seeds for sustainability of the orphanage. The project worked on tilting the soil and advocated self sufficiency in food production. Anyone who is desirous in donating to this cause, please do so on our website. Our goal is to raise $5000.00 to purchase 100 bags of rice and seeds for tilting the soul. You are also encouraged to request a receipt for tax purposes.

A sense of Community |
It is customary in
the Liberian Community that NGO’s contribute to community programs
and projects.
Being an NGO, Budu Liberian Refugee Children Project will
contribute to sanitation, safe drinking water projects and other
community needs. Since its inception, Budu Children has over
the years experienced such emergencies as sudden illnesses, the
death of some of the parents of our children or even the children
themselves. Other children not covered by our program are sometimes
sent out of school for fees balances, etc. Such occurrences are
usually not budgeted for and can cause negative opinion of Budu
Children whenever they are turned away. Budu Children will strategize to meet such needs.
